This Privacy Policy explains how our app CallTag – Contacts & Caller ID (referred to as “the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information. We are committed to ensuring your privacy and keeping your data safe.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.


1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary for the App to function properly.

1.1 Contacts (READ_CONTACTS, WRITE_CONTACTS)

Used to:

  • Display your contacts
  • Let you add, edit, and delete contacts
  • Provide faster search and improved contact management

We do NOT upload or store your contacts on our servers.
All data stays on your device.


1.2 Call Logs (READ_CALL_LOG)

Used to:

  • Show call history
  • Allow quick redial and call management
  • Provide call analytics inside the app (if available)

We do not store or upload any call logs to our servers.


1.3 Cloud Contact Backup (Google Drive)

If enabled, users can:

  • Backup contacts to their own Google Drive
  • Automatically backup contacts at intervals
  • Restore contacts from their Google Drive backup

What is backed up:

  • Contact names
  • Phone numbers
  • Emails (if present)
  • Other fields stored in phonebook (device-dependent)

Backups are stored in the user’s own Google Drive account, not on our servers.
We do not have access to your Google Drive files unless you grant access.
You can remove app access anytime from your Google account settings.


1.4 Blocking & Caller Details

If you block a number or view caller info, this data stays on your device unless you explicitly export it.


1.5 Caller ID (BIND_SCREENING_SERVICE / READ_PHONE_STATE / READ_CALL_LOG)

Caller ID permissions may be requested for:

  • Identifying incoming calls
  • Providing spam alerts or unknown number information (if available)
  • Blocking unwanted calls (optional)

Caller ID data is processed locally or through approved third-party APIs only if you enable the feature.
We do not sell, share, or misuse caller ID data.


1.6 Phone (READ_PHONE_STATE, CALL_PHONE)

Used to:

  • Initiate phone calls directly from the app
  • Detect ongoing calls to show call screen UI (if enabled)

We do not store any phone state information.


1.7 Device Information

We may collect non-personal device data such as:

  • App version
  • Device model
  • Android version
  • Crash logs (via Crashlytics or similar tools)

This helps improve app performance and stability.


2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information strictly for the following purposes:

  • Contact and call management
  • Caller identification (if enabled)
  • Enable after-call actions
  • Allow contact backup and restore
  • Improve performance and user experience
  • Personalizing features
  • Debugging, crash fixing, and analytics
  • Handle premium features (e.g., no ads, automatic backup)
  • Showing relevant ads (if AdMob or ad partners are integrated)

We never sell your data.


3. Third-Party Services We Use

The App may integrate the following services (optional depending on your setup):

3.1 Google AdMob

Used to show ads.
AdMob may collect advertising identifiers and device information.

Only the number you are checking may be sent.
We do not upload your entire contact list.

You can disable Caller ID anytime.

  • Contacts, call logs, and personal data stay on your device unless you choose to back them up
  • Any data processed for ads or analytics is handled by their respective platforms.
  • We use strong security measures to protect your information.
  • Backups go to your Google Drive, not our servers

5. Children’s Privacy

Our app is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect information from children.


6. Your Rights

You can:

  • Disable permissions at any time
  • Disable automatic backups
  • Delete contacts directly from your device
  • Disable Caller ID services from the app settings
  • Remove Drive access from your Google Account
  • Clear app data or uninstall the app to remove all local information
  • Contact us for support or questions
